‘I get this strong feeling that previously I was ignorant of my own ignorance, and now I understand my ignorance. It’s slightly depressing as you realize how ignorant you are. But this is progress. The first step in understanding these things is having a list of things that one has to understand, and that’s what we’ve got here.’ [Computational biologist Ewan Birney when interviewed about ‘junk DNA’] http://www.scientificamerican.com/article/hidden-treasures-in-junk-dna/?page=2
Other lives personas and soul intentions are held in the so-called ‘junk-DNA’ (which my arthritic fingers insist on typing as unk-DNA so I’ve adopted that name) but can also be accessed in the Akashic Record through the Causal Vortex chakra. We’ll get onto the treasure that is not-junk-DNA later blog the way this one is going. But I found the novella below when looking for images to illustrate thoughts I’d been ruminating on regarding the connection between ‘unk-DNA’ and the disused corners of our mind and what we store there. It seems to express so succinctly the fear there is around the hidden and the unknown. And to describe the kind of places I venture into all the time. The places we all must go and fearlessly rip back the covering and look with open eyes and a willing heart if we are to move on with our spiritual evolution.
‘In almost every building, there is one corner, one small enclosure that no one ever looks at. It’s the corner in the basement that has been blocked by a disused sofa for years; the thin space in the attic between the wall and the stacks and stacks of crates full of junk you never use, but could never throw away. The space that never sees the light of day, or any other kind of light at all. Where darkness does not merely dominate, but practically oozes out from around the edges of its prison. No one knows quite how long a space must remain concealed for it to acquire this particular property, nor if there are any specific conditions it must meet. But it is a far more common occurrence than you might think.
In newer buildings, when this happens, the residents often report feeling cold when passing by, even in attics during the hottest of summers. Whenever contemplating taking a quick peek to see if there is anything actually there, an unnatural dread seizes them, and they leave the room quickly, if not quite running. Once left behind, the feeling passes, and it is quickly forgotten, or laughed off.
What actually happens in these forgotten sanctuaries of the dark? It is impossible to tell. For while many such corners have been exposed to reveal absolutely nothing, some brave souls have lost their sanity through nothing more than an ill-timed glance. The safest thing to do when encountered with such a phenomenon; close your eyes, rip away the area’s covering in a single motion, then keep a tight hold on what you’ve pulled away. No matter what you hear or feel, do not get up, do not look around, and do not try to cover your ears. You might be one of the lucky ones.’ http://blackgargienovella.blogspot.co.uk/2010/09/dark-corner.html
But, as this author is suggesting, is refusing to look, in other words denial and repression, really the wisest approach? Maybe. For some. Those who want to remain safely stuck. But that can have its unintended consequences, not the least dis-ease and delusion. It’s not an empowering or evolutionary way to deal with all that is hidden. To root out characters waiting in the wings to trip you up or sabotage you just at the wrong moment. Or to offer help at unexpected turning points. Nor does it assist you to find the hidden treasures that lie discarded and unrecognised in those disused corners. Compare it to this:
‘Discovery of a new layer of meanings becomes an adventure similar to the exploration of the abandoned corners in an unfamiliar city, where discarded artifacts may create a mosaic of life stories of those who left them behind. It does not matter whether the story happened or could happen; its formation is more about us than about protagonists of the story. As literature uses words to form images, in this case we are using images to build a story. The concept of the Nusle project is based on a free play of imagination stimulated by rich visual perceptions.’http://www.urbanspree.com/blog/page/2/
I’ve always loved good street art as a great way to enliven the hidden and formerly unloved corners of cities. But Urban Spree took it further with a book of screen prints that was:
Deeply rooted in Prague and Czech culture, each image consists of surreal images of scenes depending on a number of seemingly unrelated, dreamlike stories, but in fact deeply intertwined. Individual images are rich scenes full of symbols, taking place in the backdrop of the urban periphery, which represents the peripheral areas of the mind.’
So of course, I tried to order it. As an inspiration. But, as usual, I have to do it myself rather than have someone else do it for me. The book is no longer available although some of the images are on-line to view. So let’s get back to my wandering thoughts.
What had set off my train of thought was an experience I had in Romania. I was facilitating a workshop on crystals for expanded consciousness and opening the higher chakras. It held a hundredth monkey intention. If enough people open their awareness and ‘upshift’ their vibrations, the collective can only benefit.
The workshop was geared to this intention – as had been made clear. So you can imagine how surprised I was to be confronted by a woman who, as I was setting up the space, thrust a large bag of crystals at me and said ‘I’ve brought my crystals for you to tell me how to use them. Shall I show you now?’ ‘That’s not the intention of this workshop,’ I said, hoping to head her off. ‘You can read my books for that. This is about taking crystal work further. We’ll be using our intuition and finding out how the crystals want to work with you.’ If only!
At each and every break, and any point she could get in, she thrust yet another crystal at me demanding, ‘tell me how to use it.’ Her agenda was fixed. She was not to be moved. Why she thought showing yet another crystal would trigger a different response from me I don’t know. But she was still doing it as she was ushered out at the end of two days. Her mind was made up before the work began and she wasn’t about to let it be cracked open. How many people do you know like that?
So different to another of the women on the workshop. (Indeed, all the attendees.) She was an experienced dowser. When we started exploring the causal vortex chakra – which is located in a slightly different place for everyone – with Blue Kyanite she pulled out her dowser. ‘No cheating,’ I laughed, ‘let the crystal find it for you.’ Which was the point of that particular exercise. A few minutes later she came up to me with a beatific smile on her face. ‘The crystal took my hand and showed me,’ she said in almost childlike wonder. ‘It really did it. It guided me.’ Yes! That’s exactly what was supposed to happen. [You’ll find info on the causal vortex at the bottom of this blog].
On the plane coming home I was musing on these two very different approaches. The second woman trusted her dowsing, relied on it, and it had never let her down but she was still willing to try another way. She had come to the workshop with the intention of opening up her experience. Of expanding her mind into higher consciousness. But she had willingly joined in clearing out the disused corners and seeing what treasures lay there before we got to the causal vortex to find our soul intention. Exploring new ways was natural to her. And naturally, when she connected to her soul intention she was on exactly the right pathway. The first woman had come needing to know ‘the rules’ and afraid to move away from them in case she ‘got it wrong.’ She was desperate not to make a mistake, or, as I call it, have a learning experience. As I constantly reiterate in my workshops, there are no rules when we work intuitively with crystals (apart from always clean your crystals!) and no ‘wrong’ way to do it as long you work with the intention that it will be for the highest good of all and trust the crystal beings to guide the process.
The sanctuary light has been out for weeks
God does not answer anymore
All those souls are crying out in the dark
The angels are not guarding that door
I am lost
No place to turn
All those bridges
Wrecked and burned
Suicide is out
So why can’t I die?
That loss of sanctuary image really spoke to me. When we can’t die, we are turned within. To rekindle our inner sanctuary, lighten our own darkness. Not with searing brightness, more a gentle glimmer of understanding. The two women on the workshop reflected what is going on for me astrologically. And, I guess, something that happens within each one of us as we all have opposing agendas and outdated soul intentions lurking in those hidden corners of the mind and our unk DNA – more about that in the next blog. We store many characters there too. Players and scripts that once graced the stage of our life will reappear from time to time. Bit players who may turn out to be stars, idols that are overhyped and dead before dawn. We need to reconcile and reinvent. I recognise that stubborn, fixed part of me that wants what it wants the way it wants it when it wants it – I have a Scorpio Moon after all. That’s also the intrepid part of me that ventures where others fear to tread though. The part that is comfortable with death and dying and what lies beyond. There is also the part of me that wants to grow, emerge, expand, experience different dimensions. That will give most things a try to see where it takes me. And then accept or reject it according to whether it rings true to me, not to someone else. As Aristotle said so long ago:
Once again, the outer world was mirroring my inner. In my birthchart, my Sagittarius Sun, representing my adventurous self, is opposite Uranus – the chaotic, catalytic, intuitive planet that wants to break through all the limits and go where no one has been before. My Sun also sits next to Mercury, the planet of the mind and communication. In the sign that asks all the great questions of life. This threesome is what makes me an intuitive karmic astrologer and enables me to ‘read’ and integrate energy fields in many dimensions. But at the moment in the sky above us I have Saturn, the planet of boundaries, limitations and the ‘ring-pass-not’ of esoteric astrology transiting (sitting on) my Sun. Literally I feel sat-upon. It’s a heavy transit. Soul scouring – again! Saturn is the Lord of Time and Karma – and wisdom. It’s time for a clear out and goodness knows my house could do with one. But Saturn is also the shadow. So could those dusty corners of my mind and the characters who lurk there. It’s no wonder I’ve been so pushed towards releasing ancestral and personal karma this year not only for myself but for the collective. So many wonderful new stones have arrived to help with that task. And you should see what I found on the crystal mountain on this latest trip – all will be revealed when the time is right! It has to be cleansed first as it’s been buried a long time and only just come to the surface. Fortunately I know the transit is clearing the way for something new to emerge. Thank the gods for astrology!
My friend Howard Sasportas once said that if you were having a heavy Saturn transit like this you might as well paint your room black and sit in it until the wisdom is revealed. In other words, create a sanctuary in the dark. We are so often afraid of the dark, but it has its own penumbrial light. Saturn is also our karmic and esoteric learning. It’s what we discover when we pass through our various initiations. He also described Saturn-Uranus cosying up together – or should that be squeezing – around Mars in my natal chart as driving flat out towards a brick wall with the brakes full on but not working. I’m always reminded of that when I see the Harry Potter films with the kids walking through a wall onto platform nine and three-quarters – apparently lots of people actually try it at Kings Cross. I wonder how many make it? I wouldn’t mind giving it a try. It’s pretty much what I do whenever I go journeying with a crystal. Walking through walls. And, like so much else, it’s based on a ‘misremembered memory’ of the author. Another dusted off corner of the mind.
Platforms 9 and 10 are adjacent to each other which means that there couldn’t be a magical brick wall to travel through! In an interview with the BBC in 2001 JK Rowling admits confusing Euston station with Kings Cross Station. “I wrote Platform 9 3/4 when I was living in Manchester, and I wrongly visualised the platforms, and I was actually thinking of Euston, so anyone who’s actually been to the real platforms 9 and 10 in King’s Cross will realise they don’t bear a great resemblance to the platforms 9 and 10 as described in the book. So that’s just me coming clean, there. I was in Manchester; I couldn’t check.” In fact, even at Euston station platforms 9 and 10 are also adjacent meaning that once again, there would be no room for a magical brick wall!
But those cunning people at British Rail got round it. In the new up-dated, much revolutionised station, Platform 9¾ can be found in the main concourse area alongside a Harry Potter shop. So commerce won the day. That time.
But then, magic and memory don’t need facts now do they? Only practitioners who understand the power of ideas, intention and consciousness.
So, once again, let’s get back on track. This ‘circles of the mind’ image was intended for the unk-DNA blog but it is so appropriate to the mind in general – and my transit in particular – that I thought I’d let you ruminate on it until you read the next blog. For me, the blue is the mystery that lies behind and as for the ‘junk’, well! Watch an episode of Salvage Hunters to learn about that one. One man’s junk is another man’s inexplicable treasure. But what is it for you?
As this blog is long enough, I’ll leave you with an image that really spoke to me. I’m adopting Beatitudes for the Weird as my credo! I never was in favour of blessed are the meek. I don’t want to inherit the earth. I’m aiming to explore the stars. ……… speaking of which, the information on the causal vortex is below.
Awaken your causal vortex, and you bring the Akashic Record instantly on-line. Your soul’s intention becomes clear.
The record of the soul’s journey
Location: 3 – 4 inches above and behind the head (dowse for its exact placement)
Acting rather like a universal and cosmic worldswide web, the causal vortex accesses the Akashic Records especially that of your own soul. It assists in assessing how far you have travelled on your spiritual journey and how well you are doing with your karmic lessons. When this chakra is operational, the spiritual will is activated, guided by the Higher Self and the universal mind. It receives wisdom and guidance from spiritual mentors and higher dimensional beings. Accessing this chakra illuminates the things you have chosen to experience in a given physical life and what lessons you are trying to learn. It is also a repository for ancestral and karmic dis-eases. Cause and effect is understood dispassionately when viewed from the perspective of this chakra. There is no emotional involvement. When activated and developed, it keeps the connection to your soul open and helps you access your karmic skills and abilities. It keeps the mind clear and focused, allowing soul input, ideas and intuition to flow freely. This chakra can assimilate scalar wave energy, bringing the subtle and physical bodies into alignment and activating DNA potential that is carried in the consciousness between the cell walls.
Physiology: etheric and karmic blueprint, inherited and karmic diseases, DNA and RNA,
Sense: purpose and true identity
Positive qualities: mindfulness. Living in the higher present moment.
Negative qualities: living unconsciously propelled by your own past, ancestral or cultural imperatives
Overactive/blown/spin too fast: if this chakra is blown you may be prey to wild imaginings and off-key intuitions.
Underactive/blocked/ spin too slow: if this chakra is blocked your metaphysical abilities will be cut off from your conscious mind but may nevertheless affect your behaviour.
Attachments: past life and cultural or ancestral beliefs and soul imperatives.
Crystals: Blue Kyanite, Herkimer Diamonds, Celtic White Chevron Quartz and Golden Healer, Trigonic Quartz and Brandenberg Amethyst.
[Extracted from Crystal prescriptions volume 4.]
Note: The causal vortex should only be opened when the traditional seven chakras plus the Earth Star, Gaia Gateway, Soul Star and Stellar Gateway have been cleansed and integrated along with the past life chakras. If you aren’t familiar with these chakras then you need Crystal Prescriptions volume 4: Chakra balancing crystals and kundalini activation stones. Plus www.angeladditions.co.uk for the stones.
Next time, turning your unk-DNA into jumping genies.
