Crystal Blessings – Revisited
It is always such a joy when I hear how crystals have changed people’s lives. When Joginder, who runs the Tree of Life in Birmingham, was introducing me last year he told the story of how he’d been in despair, feeling very lonely and finding it impossible to meet a partner who was on the...
When a butterfly flaps its wings in Brazil we get a hurricane off the coast of Florida. (attributed to Edward Lorenz, Chaos Theory)
“If a butterfly flapping its wings in the Amazon causes a hurricane in the Caribbean then surely a group of writers flapping their arms in the New Forest could shift the jetstream. Let’s do it,” I said.
Six Village Writers enthusiastically flapped their elbows while four others looked on in quizzical amusement.
We had been discussing the abnormally cold and wet ‘summer’ we were experiencing which, apparently, was due to the jet stream being ‘stuck in the wrong place’. I had made my suggestion somewhat flippantly. But, two days later the sun came out, summer had arrived. The jet stream had shifted.
When I recounted this to a friend she said witheringly: “Surely you don’t think you had anything to do with that do you?” Well, actually, yes, we just might have. I’ve seen such things happen too often for it to be mere coincidence. I believe the intention gets taken up by the universe and reflected back to manifest in the world. That’s the power of magical thinking – and it fits very neatly into chaos theory too.
I’ve just found this great site that explains in words of pretty much one syllable something I’ve been trying to describe for ages: the complexities of chaos theory. I mentally translate this into how crystals can affect each other and everything around them. I remember getting really excited when Bernadette Brady, an astrologer and scientist, gave a lecture to my Masters’ class a few years ago on the link between chaos theory and astrology. She casually said: ‘Oh, this could explain reincarnation Judy.’ Yes it could, but it also encompasses the crystal effect as crystals are one of the many fractals found in nature:
Fractals: A fractal is a never-ending pattern. Fractals are infinitely complex patterns that are self-similar across different scales. They are created by repeating a simple process over and over in an ongoing feedback loop. Driven by recursion, fractals are images of dynamic systems – the pictures of Chaos. Geometrically, they exist in between our familiar dimensions. Fractal patterns are extremely familiar, since nature is full of fractals. For instance: trees, rivers, coastlines, mountains, clouds, seashells, hurricanes, etc.
An old Rosicrucian word of wisdom begins with the profound statement “I have laid the eternal Word of Creation into the stone.” … in the manifold literatures of the world the precious and semi-precious stones are represented as centres of well-nigh miraculous influence upon Nature, including human life… a profoundly important relationship exists between the secret wisdom of the silent world of the precious stones, in which the very secrets of Creation, and of the life of man lie hidden.
Paul M. Allen, Introduction to Fernie, The Occult and Curative Powers of Precious Stones
This is what the Fractal FoundationTM has to say about chaos theory in general:
Chaos explores the transitions between order and disorder, which often occur in surprising ways.
Chaos is the science of surprises, of the nonlinear and the unpredictable. It teaches us to expect the unexpected. While most traditional science deals with supposedly predictable phenomena like gravity, electricity, or chemical reactions, Chaos Theory deals with nonlinear things that are effectively impossible to predict or control, like turbulence, weather, the stock market, our brain states, and so on. These phenomena are often described by fractal mathematics, which captures the infinite complexity of nature. Many natural objects exhibit fractal properties, including landscapes, clouds, trees, organs, rivers etc, and many of the systems in which we live exhibit complex, chaotic behavior. Recognizing the chaotic, fractal nature of our world can give us new insight, power, and wisdom. For example, by understanding the complex, chaotic dynamics of the atmosphere, a balloon pilot can “steer” a balloon to a desired location. By understanding that our ecosystems, our social systems, and our economic systems are interconnected, we can hope to avoid actions which may end up being detrimental to our long-term well-being.
And, I would add, by using the orderliness of a crystal lattice, we can entrain our thoughts and a crystal to create a new order.
Psychologists and sceptics are scathing about magical thinking – which in their lexicon is defined as erroneously believing you have influenced what happens in the world around you when actually it’s just a completely random coincidence. But magical thinking is the basis of the Law of Attraction and the Power of Now. Manifesting is the result of thoughts and feelings projected out to the world. And the more conscious the intention, the more directed the thought, the more positive the result. As the Buddha said:
As irrigators lead water where they want, as archers make their arrows straight, as carpenters carve wood, the wise shape their minds.
True creation starts in the heart rather than the head. And it’s all about the process of transformation. Manifesting is not something you do, it is what you are: an outward expression of your inner being. It makes visible your background thoughts and feelings and expresses your core self. We all manifest every second of every day. With each thought, emotion and belief that passes through us, we create our reality whether we intend to or not. When Socrates said that the unexamined life was not worth living he stated a profound truth. If we do not examine our inner life, those thoughts, feelings, mental filters and beliefs that form our interior world, how can we possibly recognise their influence on our outer life? I’m also aware that ‘asking the universe’ gives away your own power to create. It puts the ability to direct your life firmly in the hands of A.N.Other – whether that other is named God, the universe, or whatever. Take back that power and you actualise your desires – I use a Power Sceptre, Malachite or Eye of the Storm (Judy’s Jasper) to support this process of becoming a conscious co-creator of your world.
Your thoughts and wishes are instructions that are picked up, magnified and returned to you: dispassionately but accurately and in abundance. Some people seem to believe that it is the universe’s task to give them what they want, to respond to petitions for ‘more money’, ‘more love’, ‘a better life’. They look to something ‘out there’ to create on their behalf because they have a feeling of impotent lack. Those who make demands of the universe in this way are living their lives backwards. They think that if they have more of what they so desperately desire, they will be happier. But what they manifest is more of the same: lack. Joy and a sense of empowerment radiating out would attract to them an abundant life. Magical thinking creates a self-fulfilling prophecy, a benevolent gifting circle.
‘When the butterfly rests in your hand don’t close it.’
If there are contradictions within you, if the part that is unconscious is putting out one message while your conscious mind is putting out another, or if two unconscious parts are in conflict, confusion and negative manifestation results. This is not only true of thoughts and feelings. Perhaps the deepest question of all is can we successfully manifest something that goes against our soulplan? Soulplans are something that interest me greatly. As a karmic astrologer I have examined thousands of soulplans over the last forty five years and I explored them in depth for The Book of Why. We not only have a plan for the current life, laid down before we reincarnated and mapped in our birthchart, but we may well be running this alongside out-dated soulplans from other lives too. These can trip us up if they cancel out our current plan. I use astrology and a variety of crystals to understand these plans but you can find yours by holding your favourite crystal, contemplating your life so far and asking for guidance (see the soulplan meditation below). Or, you can follow the longer meditation in Judy Hall’s Life Changing Crystals, and then apply magical thinking to create the life you were born to live.
Jade and Citrine traditionally generate abundance and attract good fortune.
Manifestation Quartz: This Quartz formation has one or more small, perfectly formed crystals enfolded within an outer crystal. It illustrates that your core self inhabits a ‘bubble of reality’ that moves with you wherever you go. A Manifestation crystal amplifies and enhances your intentions, thoughts, feelings and beliefs – positive or negative. Manifestation Quartz asks you to dig deep and discover whether you truly believe that you deserve what you seek. If not, other crystals may be needed to shift your core beliefs to positive.
Generator formation: A Generator takes two forms and may be any type of Quartz including Amethyst, Spirit or Smoky. It is either a cluster with points radiating out in all directions, or a large point with six equal sided faces meeting in a point in the middle. Generators, as the name suggests, create energy and radiate it out to the world around you. If you are using a Generator cluster, each point can be programmed for a specific purpose.
Ammolite, fossilized ammonite that has opalised, is known as the Seven Colour Prosperity Stone because of its opalised flashes of colour. Green supports entrepreneurship, yellow attracts wealth and orange creativity.
Mystic Merlinite rapidly expands consciousness. It facilitates exploring hidden parts of your psyche to better understand situations that have a profound effect on your manifesting.
Trigonic Quartz takes you to the core of all that you are and who you are meant to be. It helps you transcend the boundaries of everyday reality. Making you stay with what is in any given moment, Trigonic reconnects you to your highest purpose rather than what your ego might wish to be. When manifesting from this level, you cannot but work for the highest good of all.
Crystal Cap Amethyst (Snow Cap) acts like a ladder to ascended awareness and brings you back to your body to integrate quantum consciousness when the experience is complete. Crystal Cap harmonises the brain, encouraging integration of the various parts, and activates neurotransmitters and new neural pathways so that you manifest anew.
Rutilated Quartz connects you to your soulplan and helps you to understand the effects of previous actions and ingrained patterns. So, for instance, if you live a life of lack because of a previous vow of poverty, it helps you to release this. But if you have taken on a particular way of life as a learning experience, it assists you to gain the most from this. If you took on that life of lack in order to stimulate recognition of your inner resources, for example, it reminds you to look within and find your strengths.
Tourmalinated Quartz: Tourmalines are natural detoxifiers drawing off negativity and blocking the implanted thoughts of other people so that you stand in your own thought power. When you add Selenite or Quartz to the mix, cosmic light is drawn in to transmute your mundane mind into higher understanding.
