“You can’t map a sense of humor. Anyway, what is a fantasy map but a space beyond which There Be Dragons? On the Discworld we know that There Be Dragons Everywhere. They might not all have scales and forked tongues, but they Be Here all right, grinning and jostling and trying to sell you souvenirs. ”
Terry Pratchett, The Color of Magic

DragonsDragons. They are all around us: if you know where to look. All you need is to shift your focus, just a little. They are very keen to communicate. Dragons hold immense wisdom and great riches, and they are wonderful guides and mentors. The earliest written dragon myth was carved onto clay tablets over 5000 years ago and depicts the story of a dragon named Asag. In all such stories, dragons guarded treasures, held back floods, and imparted knowledge. You can meet the dragons with a simple grid layout, see below.

The elemental dragons

How do you fancy having a dragon guard the plane next time you head off to the sun? According to Alphedia Arara, the metal dragons work with ores that have been smelted and used in construction and for flight. One of her dragons communicated:

Each aeroplane has a guardian Dragon due to the high aluminium content and other metals used to transport people around the globe.’ (www.dragonwisdomschool.org)

Isn’t that a comforting idea, each plane in the sky having a dragon looking after it? It makes me look forward to my next flight! The metal dragons also assist the flow of lifeforce around the Earth’s meridians. Their purpose is to make a greater connection with the metallic kingdom to speed up humanity’s spiritual development.

Each of the elemental dragons has a specific purpose.

The creative fire dragon symbolizes energy, transmutation and mastery of power. A fire dragon imbues you with vitality and enthusiasm, lending you the courage to overcome obstacles.

The nurturing earth dragon symbolizes your riches and your potential, inner and outer. Earth dragons are helpful when you need grounding and stabilizing. They pull together scattered energies and reintegrate them when you need to call on your deepest resources.

The inspirational air dragon offers you insight and illumination. Call on it when you need clarity or to connect to your intuitive guidance.

The empathetic water dragon offers you a deeper connection – to your own past and to ancestral memories. It links to your suppressed emotions and to the hidden desires that motivate you, helping you to come to terms with, and release, the past.

The cosmic dragons are vast interstellar beings wise beyond the range of human perception. Mythical and mystical, these dragons have been represented throughout time but remained in other dimensions. The cosmic dragons are now drawing closer to Earth to share their wisdom and assist with human evolution.

Healing devastated land

When Terrie Celest and I were on one of our Welsh trips we drove through some devastated forest that was screaming out to be healed. The trees had been ripped up wholesale. The picture below doesn’t quite capture the torn out roots that we saw elsewhere but you can see the contrast. Morganna, who was with me, demanded on behalf of the dragons that they assist. Petronella, a Petrified Wood Dragon, was somehow purchased on line at midnight in an area where there was no normally mobile phone or wi-fi signal. The need was urgent and so the means was provided. She went into a dragon weyr to heal devastated forest land (see below).

A little while later, after I’d been receiving reminders that were impossible to ignore that more work was needed, a rather fierce Mangano Calcite dragon reached out and grabbed me at an MBS Festival at the NEC. He (a surprise that!), turned out to be a mate for Petronella. Once I got home, he demanded to be placed in the grid that was healing the devastated forest. Even more of a surprise was that Charlie Boy, my grinning Agate skull, also wanted to go into the grid. I’d been doing him rather a disservice by assuming that his role was to stop the skulls from becoming too pretentious in their work. Once placed in the grid, he amped up the energy amazingly. The skulls remain quietly in their corner, simply getting on with it. It will be interesting to see what shoots appear in the spring.

You will need:

3 each earth, fire, water crystals

 Or 9 Dragon’s Blood Jasper

9 Selenite to outline the grid.

Dragon carving or appropriate crystal to act as the keystone

  • Hold your crystals and state your intention.
  • Lay earth element stones at the base of the Y.
  • Lay water element stones to one side of the V.
  • Lay fire element stones to the other side of the V.
  • Surround the Y with air element stones.
  • Place an appropriate keystone or dragon in the centre.
  • Ask the dragon to make itself known to you. If you have placed a crystal dragon in the centre, pick up the dragon and hold it in your hands so that it becomes a home for your dragon. Whenever you need guidance, hold the dragon in your hands.
  • If appropriate, place an anchor stone below or to one side of the grid.
